Turtle watching
- Sea turtles are one of the animals that have survived about 190 million years. Whose ancestors walked alongside dinosaurs. There are about 8 species of marine turtles. They have over 80 years of life. They reach sexual maturity after 30 years. Turtles must come to the surface to breathe every thirty minutes and they must come to the beach for nesting. They preferred quiet, dark, undisturbed places to lay their eggs where they have fewer threats from predators.
Sandy beaches from Induruwa to Yala are heaven for them to nest in Sri Lanka.
